Sian Ka'an + Muyil ruins
biosphere reserve & muyil mayan ruins
WARNING: MUYIL Ruins are closed for an undetermined amount of time.
Until it reopens, the itinerary has been modified, and we will visit TULUM Ruins instead.
The ancient Maya site of Muyil, located in the northern part of the Sian Ka'an biosphere reserve, is a must-visit. This millennia-old trading post sits on the edge of freshwater lagoons and tropical forests. Stroll among the temples nestled in the trees and climb a lookout tower for an amazing view of the biosphere. After the walk, enjoy a delicious picnic with seasonal fruits and local snacks.
Next, hop on a boat ride across lagoons and through mangrove canals, following a secret route once used for trade. The route is dotted with small temples and teeming with birdlife.
End the day with an incredible 'lazy river' adventure. Float in crystal-clear water surrounded by the soothing sounds of nature, and experience a peaceful experience you’ll never forget.
